INTO THE BADLANDS

We never chose where to be born......someone once said that.You call in gettoh or mabanda but I call it home.I was born and raised in the city slums of mathere Nairobi  Kenya,The fourth  largest getthoh we have In Africa.i simply talk about  my life here because  unlike the type of mindset people  might  have by the mention  of  gettoh I see it differently its a home.Gettohs are well known for bad stuff and many people have always been profiled by this.From violence, robbery, rape,poor housing, street kids,poor living conditions, lack water,poor medical facilities, teen sex and pregnancy, drugs and of course the drama. But have you ever wondered and to check  the good side of this place how even with those worse situation good things can evolve and biggest talents have come up from this area from politician,biggest musician great footballers,best journalist amongst others have come up against all odds. Here we are taught to survive, we are taught to speak out our minds we are taught to love and most important to protect our own and live free spirited without limiting ourselves but due to the mindset many have about this place we are limited. We also have a good side you just need to change your mindset and meib he less judgemental because we never chose to be there but we love it here.you call it gettoh we call it home
